VBScript Enabling in Browsers

VBScript does not support all modern browsers. VBScript is supported by Internet Explorer of Microsoft only, while other browsers (Firefox and Chrome) offer JavaScript support. Therefore, JavaScript usually is prefered by developers over VBScript.

As Internet Explorer (IE) supports VBScript, this feature may be explicitly enabled or disabled. This VBScript Tutorial explains how VBScript functionality in Internet Explorer may be enabled and disabled.

VBScript in Internet Explorer

Here are simple steps to turn on or turn off VBScript in your Internet Explorer −

  • Follow Tools then Internet Menu Options
  • Choose the Security tab from the dialogue box
  • Click the button Custom Level
  • Scroll the scribing option till you find it
  • To activate the active script, select Enable radio button
  • Click OK and come out.

To disable VBScript support in Internet Explorer, select the Disable radio button under the Active scripting option.
