VBScript Introduction

A scaled-down version of Visual Basic is VBScript (visual basic script). Visual Basic is a comprehensive language of programming. On the other hand, VBScript is a client-side (i.e. via your web browser) or server-side script language (i.e. on the webserver). VBScript is the most widely used script language for websites using ASP (Active Server Pages).

When VBScript runs on the client-side, VBScript is supported by the browser of the user. The server must support it when running on the server-side. In this lesson, you should choose Internet Explorer for our examples on the client-side, as most browsers don't support VBScript, to get the most of the VBScript Tutorial.

Some points indicate whether the VBScript is suitable or not for your use:

  • VBScript is the best option for beginners programming because it has many advanced features.
  • VBScript is a must if you're ready to learn ASP. If you are unable to use VBScript for ASP, then it is necessary to learn VBScript.
  • You will have different options accessible for you if you wish to use VBScript skills.
